Great in cold or wet weather when cycling
I bought these gloves primarily for commuting in the wonderful Seattle weather. Here it is either sunny with partly rainy or rainy with partly sunny with a stiff breeze for good measure.
The gloves perform perfectly in the rain or cold. They do keep the water out when it rains, but your hands will get that soggy feeling due to the waterproof nature (rain out means sweat stays in.) It is much like wearing water proof boots that cause your feet to get all pruny, like that, but without out the smell (well so far). I have worn the gloves in rain and light snow down to about 30 degrees and they performed perfectly. I would not want to fall in them, as they would offer little or no protection from road rash.
I find them quite comfortable to wear, so far as texture. They "feel" much like a placing your hands in side a waterproof pillow. Comfortable and great grip on the handlebars and for simple tasks. My only negative observation is that the sizing mechanism leaves...

Good cool weather gloves
Pretty good cool weather gloves. I didn't have problems shifting or using my bell and they seem durable. These are described as winter gloves My hands get cold fairly easily and I found them inadequate for cold weather. At about 40 degrees I needed gloves liners to be comfortable. They also lacked a good nose-wiping area, which makes me think they are more suited for cool weather than cold.
Great gloves
These were a gift and a real hit. My son loves them and they surpassed my expectations in terms of quality for the price.
