In addition to protection and durability, the AirPurge Dry Compression Sack™ features an air permeable/waterproof fabric band that purges excess air from the sack during compression. Fully taped seams and a roll-top closure provide complete water protection.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Great replacement for tent.
I got this bag to replace the thin tent bag that came with my big Agnes tent. It holds the tent perfectly with plenty of extra space to stuff any other gear. With the strapping and small molle strapping this sack straps right onto the bottom of my ruck sack making it a perfect fit for my pack! It is also water proof - but still air permeable meaning your gear will stay fresh !!

Still a great choice for backpacking!
This is my 5th Outdoor Research airpurge dry compression sack. I have two 15L ones from their last line and two of the 10L. I decided to go with the 2013 model because they offer a 20L.
I have an old bulky Swiss Gear 20 degree sleeping bag that wouldn't fit into either the 10L or the 15L. For that purpose, this size was a good choice.
The changes from the previous model are pretty simple. The bag is thinner and a bit lighter. The straps and their buckles are a bit smaller. The air permeable band towards the base is lime green instead of orange.
I would say that the older bags feel a bit more substantial. This really only comes into play when you are wrestling to fit a bulky item into the sack. Now that the material is a bit thinner I do find myself taking a bit more precaution when doing so just in case. Also, ratcheting down the straps usually takes a little extra tugging between the smaller buckles and thinner straps. Those are really minor...
