Very High Quality Reel
I have several Pflueger reels and have found them to be an excellent spinning reel as well as being esthetically appealing. I purchased my first Patriarch last year and have since purchased three more in various sizes. The reel's light weight and smooth operation (10+1 bearings) was a big selling point for me. I fish with braided line on most of my spinning reels and the fact that this reel comes with a 'braid ready' spool was a must have. You do not have to "back" the spool with a carbon or mono line to keep the braid from slipping. I have used the reel in Canada and on Lake Erie as well as many fishing trip here in Kentucky and have had no problems with slippage and the reels continue to be a joy to use. The manufacturer also sells the reel with a reel cover, which is a nice touch, protecting the reel from bumps while in storage or transport. The reel, regardless of size also comes with a spare aluminum spool unlike some of the other higher end reels. Like any piece of fine...

SHOULD BE GREAT
I actually haven't had time to try this reel. I just mounted it on St. Croix's newest Extreme rod. The size of the reel was a perfect match for the rod. I'm testing it this coming weekend. I'm sure it will be fantastic!
Pflueger Patriarch 9535 Spinning Reel
The reel is very smooth, the drag held up well on first use fighting a 5 lb 12 oz largemouth from 30 feet of water. The reel balances very well with the Pinnacle Perfecta 7'2" medium action spinning rod for shaky head fishing. The reel is very light for the size and very solid feeling. As far as durability, time will tell since I have only used the reel one time since purchasing. I can't wait to test the reel on some scrappy smallmouth at Dale Hollow with the float n fly setup. This was the main reason for the purchase. This reel should be great on a long FnF rod due to its lack of excess weight. Again, time will tell and to date I am very satisfied with the reel and would definitely consider this reel before purchasing another.
Note: The Tackle Tour review of this reel was spot on!!! Including the rod choice!!
